KIDS Are TOPS Sports Center, currently under construction in south Dayton, will be one of the largest sports center for children in Ohio and the Midwest. This new 40,000 Square foot complex on Paragon Road in Centerville, Ohio, will be home to TOPS Gymnastics Club, KIDS Are TOPS Swim Center, TOPS All-Star Cheerleading, TOPS Performing Arts Dance Center and TOPS Tumble Bunny Land preschool gymnastics and movement instruction as well as additional programs in music and art. The new facility is well under way and will be ready for a scheduled opening in January, 2007.

 

TOPS Gymnastics Club, Inc. has been serving the greater Dayton area since 1981 under the ownership of Gary and Debbie Gantz and their daughter, Dawn Marzluff. TOPS will continue their goal as a professional sports and performing arts center not only to develop students to their full potential, but through their staff of dedicated and trained professionals - give them care and a good example to follow as they grow both physically and mentally. The new KIDS Are TOPS Sports Center will guarantee TOPS tradition of offering one of the most modern and safest training facilities in the Midwest!

 

TOPS Gymnastics competitive girls Level 4 and Level 5 teams hit the road again on November 4th & 5th and competed at the Gem City Fall Invitational in Tipp City, Ohio. Each team consisted of 24 gymnasts ages 7 to 13 years old. Both teams were dominate and claimed first place trophies.

 

At Level 4, outstanding performances were turned in by; Tatiana Bunch – 1st All-Around 8 year olds, Claire Daniels – 2nd AA 9 year olds, Victoria Harrison – 3rd AA 7 & under, Kayla Sowers – 1st AA and Susan Meyer 3rd AA 11 and over, Alexis Creona – 1st AA, Rachel Halasz – 2nd AA and Ellen Force – 3rd AA 10 year olds.

 

At Level 5, Shanthi Hiremath was 1st AA age 8 and under and high scorer of all Level 5 gymnasts regardless of age group at 36.725. Other outstanding performers were Breanna Porter – 1st AA 10 year olds, Kelly George – 1st AA and Ashley Woods – 2nd AA 11 year olds, Christina Lopez – 1st AA, Caren Kay – 2nd AA and Caroline Clark – 3rd AA in the 12 and over age group. TOPS Level 5 gymnasts will be representing Ohio at the National Judges Cup competition in January.

 

Also on November 4th, TOPS Performing Arts Dance Program sent three soloists to the Creative Dance Productions competition at Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. All three soloists; Shelby Flamm – age 13, Kamryn McConnell – age 6 ½ and Ciara Hatfield – age 8 received Excellent Ratings for their performances. In addition, Ciara Hatfield was awarded the prestigious “Top Performer” trophy. Congratulations to all TOPS dancers and staff!

 

TOPS All-Stars Cheer teams competed on November 5th at Centerville High School at the UCA Miami Valley Regional Cheer Competition. All three teams did an excellent job with the PeeWee Team and Senior Team taking first place team honors and the Youth Team scoring a second place team trophy.

 

Tops current staff of over 25 features nearly 200 years of teaching experience and are safety certified and licensed by the national governing body, USA Gymnastics and the United States Swim School Association. TOPS currently offers instructional and competitive programs in gymnastics, cheerleading, dance and instructional music programs. With the move to the new KIDS Are TOPS Sports Center in January, 2007, TOPS will be adding instructional programs in swimming with our new therapeutic warm water pool as well as additional art and music programs.
